Itinerary
We set off to the north, with the first stop in Óbidos, a village located within medieval walls. We continue to Alcobaça, dominated by the grandeur of its Gothic church. We continue to Nazaré, a fishing village known for its beach. Then, we will visit the Batalha Monastery, in Batalha. We then proceed to Fatima, a worldwide sanctuary for worship. Overnight in Fátima.
We leave for Coimbra, a city with one of the oldest universities in the world. Here we can admire the famous Baroque library Joanina, as well as the Church of Santa Clara. In the afternoon we will continue to Aveiro, known as the "Venice of Portugal", where we can admire its moliceiro boats, the Art Nouveau buildings and taste the traditional conventual sweet – the “ovos-moles”. The day ends in Porto. Accommodation in Porto.
We start the day with a visit to the city of Porto and to the most characteristic places such as the Palácio da Bolsa, the Church of São Francisco, Praça da Ribeira, Luis I Bridge, among others. We will also visit a famous Port Wine Cellar, with wine tasting. We continue towards the Minho region, until the city of Guimarães. Here we can admire the Castle and the Palace of the Dukes of Bragança. Then, we visit the city of Braga, with the oldest Cathedral in the country and the famous Bom Jesus Sanctuary. We set off towards Amarante, a small town on the banks of the Tâmega River. We continue to Vila Real, to visit the gardens of the Palace of Mateus. We then continue our route towards the Douro wine region, stopping in Lamego to admire the superb Sanctuary of Nossa Senhora dos Remédios. In Viseu, Dão wine region, we will stop to visit the Cathedral and its historic center. Accommodation in Urgeiriça.
Today we head to Bussaco, where the Bussaco Palace Hotel, former palace of Royal Game, stands out, as well as its unusual vegetation. We continue to Tomar, where we will visit the Convento de Cristo, a monument declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. We ended our day with arrival in Lisbon and accommodation.
We start the day by visiting the village of Sintra and the Pena Palace. Free time for lunch. We then proceed to the most western point of Europe (Cabo da Roca). Along the coast, we will contemplate Boca do Inferno, the cosmopolitan village of Cascais and the gardens of Estoril Casino. Return to Lisbon and accommodation at the hotel.
Today we will discover the city of Évora, declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. We will walk through the streets of this city, visiting some of the main monuments: The Roman temple of Évora, the Roman-Gothic Cathedral, the Church of São Francisco with the Chapel of Bones and the University. In the afternoon, you will have free time to discover the city better. We suggest a gourmet wine, olive oil and cheese tasting. Accommodation in Évora.
Some free time in the morning, after which we head towards Beja, where the most imposing tower of a medieval castle in Portugal dominates the city and the region. We then continue to the Algarve, stopping at the city of Silves, which is dominated on top of the hill by the Castelo Mouro. Then, passing by Praia da Rocha, we will arrive in Lagos. Accommodation in Lagos.
On this last day, we leave for Lisbon, stopping in the city of Setúbal. This port and industrial city is located on the left bank of the mouth of the river Sado. Then, we will cross the Serra da Arrábida Natural Park, with rare vegetation and unique panoramas. Arrival in Lisbon at 6 pm. End of our services.
Today's first stop is Ponta da Piedade, to admire the rock formations created by the erosion of the sea and the weather. Then, we will depart towards Sagres, the place of the mythical nautical school of the Infante D. Henrique. We continue to Cabo de São Vicente, extreme southwest of Europe, then arriving at Lagos, a cosmopolitan Algarve city, with a marina and fishing port. Rest of the afternoon free. Accommodation in Lagos.
