Here, at ecoTours Portugal, we are committed to incorporate greener practices into our business. Our mission is to perfect the client´s leisure experience, managing at the same time our operations in a sustainable way.

We are focused on maximizing our company´s efficiency while, at the same time, undertaking initiatives that reduce waste. For example, by reducing the water and energy consumption in the company´s office. From time to time, our workers join environmentally friendly activities that aim to give back to the community. Last year, we planted trees and helped clean  the Douro´s estuary.

We replicate the same measures to our services portfolio. We aim to promote sustainable tourism offers to an increasing number of “green-savvy” clients. Additionally, we are adamant about working with suppliers and partners that respect the best environmental practices.

Being environmentally sustainable is much more than just being “green” and protecting vulnerable natural sceneries. There is also a commitment to the preservation and conservation of the historical-cultural heritage of Portugal. We believe that the protection, conservation, and management of these monuments/sights are essential for the survival and sustainable growth of the Tourism industry in our country.

We Are Economically Conscious

Tourism is extremely important for the economic progress of local communities. However, it is also clear that the link between tourism and economic growth is not automatic. In ecoTours Portugal, we decided to take matters into our own hands to tackle this issue.

Our company is focused on giving clients an authentic experience of our country by offering multiple options for tours. Our goal is to showcase the hidden treasures of our country, to invite clients to feel Portugal´s roots. For that, we work on creating partnerships with local guides and local businesses around our country.

Not only should the community be involved, but also share with it the financial benefits that are obtained, offering a fair economic performance. We believe that guaranteeing an economic benefit in the place where costs are incurred is an important principle of sustainable development. Therefore, we work to get the locals involved, promoting cultural exchange, and preserving local traditions protecting the cultural integrity and the authenticity of such places. 

We Are Socially Responsible

At ecoTours Portugal, we seek to fulfill the principles of sustainable tourism to create a better holiday experience for both tourists and locals. We know that by working closely with the community, locals will be more likely to see tourism positively and even profit from its societal developments. Still, we believe there is much more to be done. EcoTours Portugal believes that underprivileged individuals should be also a part of this beautiful cycle.

The company is invested in having a humanist approach, sharing the results of our success with local charity organizations. By working directly with Bagos D’ouro, an organization that aims to help the impoverished youth from the Douro region, we confirm our commitment to enable human development. Besides making financial donations, ecoTours Portugal also shares the wonders of tourism with these individuals. The goal is to teach them about their culture and heritage and, as a result, create more educated future citizens.
